g2 transmission oil level
HELP! After looking at the manual I found that the g2 transmission only requires .85 quarts of gear oil. I have read threads that say you should fill it up to 1/2 inch below the breather hole. .85 quart doesn't sound like much fluid so it has me worried (was something lost in translation?) How much oil should I put into the tranny. Thank you for your help

Re: g2 transmission oil level
Just as it says,.85 qt. Remember, the gears will carry the fluid to the internals, too much causes cavitation and foaming, restricting lubrication.I did switch to synthetic in mine though, due to the increased speed and abuse it gets.Hope this helps.

Re: g2 transmission oil level
If you fill it to the breather,it can seep or blow-out under high-speed use. .85qt is more than enough(trust me,I ran mine nearly dry, before i found out it had a huge crack in it,don't know how long it was there either).

Re: g2 transmission oil level
The oil level plug is well below the vent (vent circled in green, fill plug circled in red). You will end up with oil everywhere if you overfill it too much. If your cart is lifted, be sure to raise the rear suspension untill it is level to get proper fill level. Remove level plug and vent, fill through vent until oil comes out of level plug hole.

Re: g2 transmission oil level
This thread has been very helpful to me that being said I have few questions. How do you drain the fluid, do you drain it out of the fill hole or is there a drain somewhere else that I am missing? Second what weight gear lube or oil do I need to use? My cart is lifted so I am thinking that I will need a quart or maybe more to get it up to the 1/2" from the breather. My thought with it being lifted is that it is more important that it is full so that the gears get properly lubricated.
