1991 Marathon Front Leaf Springs Breaking
Hi, I have a 1991 2 stroke marathon w/ 5'' block lift kit. I installed this lift 2 years ago and havn't had a problem with anything until the other day when my leaf springs broke. The leafs are factory from ezgo. The springs broke (in my opinion) because of 2 years of stress with mild off road terrain. When these springs broke, the axle shifted and thus bent my shocks and damaged my plastic cowl and a few other minor issues. I have a 89 parts cart that I already replaced the broken springs on my 1991, but I do NOT want to have to deal with this issue again. I am looking for a heavier set of springs for the front. I did find some, but what I have found was that when these "heavy duty" spring meets the axle, there is only has one leaf, which is exactly how my factory ones are and which is also where my factory broke at. So what I am thinking of doing is adding a leaf myself to make two leafs hook into the axle. Any suggestions or comments about this?
