Blowing oil out of the engine
I have a 1995 ezgo with the 295 engine. I have owned it for a couple years and it has run great. Recently, after the engine warms up, it starts blowing oil into the air cleaner, which is coming from the hose connecting the air cleaner to the bottom part of the engine. I pulled the head off and checked the valves which looked good. What would my next step be?
Thanks in advance!! Jim |

Re: Blowing oil out of the engine
I'm not an expert but it sounds like the engine is creating case pressure that is causing it to push the oil out of the case vent that connects to the air box. You might want to start somewhere simple and inspect/replace the crank seals. Did you notice any fuel in the oil? Rings could be going bad. (Air leaking past the rings is causing compression in the case). Might want to try a leak down test to see what's happening in their. I hope somebody here can help you out. Could also be simply too much oil but I'm sure that you've checked it multiple times.

Re: Blowing oil out of the engine
The oil now has gas mixed with it causing it to be overfull. Can the vacuum fuel pump put gasoline directly into the crankcase?

Re: Blowing oil out of the engine
I guess anything is possible but more than likely the fuel is leaking down past the rings. You should definitely do a leak down test to see if holds pressure. Have you tried a compression test just to see how much compression you have?

Sounds like your rings are worn out like mine was, mine was doing the exact same thing.

Re: Blowing oil out of the engine
I talked with a dealer and was told to replace the fuel pump which is run from vacuum which come from the engine. He said if the fuel pump has a small leak in the diaphragm, it will suck gas right into the engine. I am going to pick one up today and get it put in. Will post more later.
