You should also check the throttle cable adjustment to see why it backfired.

Like cart around said, easy to pull the pump and check for a torn diaphragm too - simply take out the screws and inspect it.

diaphragm was in good shape even tried to gravity feed gas right into carb. pulled fan cover and fan I need to borrow a puller again for the fly wheel to get a visual on the crank seal hopefully tomorrow I also noticed while turning the motor over there was no change in tone as I pulled the choke like there was before not sure if that is important but I figured every detail might help thanks to all

Yes it was a seal!! You guys are kick *** I was so frustrated now I want to fix her instead of doing my regular weekend chores THANKS TO ALL!!

I blew off my chores put the seal back in ran for a few min. And blew the seal back out just ordered a new seal cause the metal was a little bent can I use a sealer or jb weld around the new seal I think the case is a little too open

Blue loctite on the outer part of the seal only.
