1988 EZGO will not start AT ALL
Hey guys. I haven't been on here for a while cause the golf cart has been running flawlessly until now. Here is what happened in order. Cart ran fine all along this season until two weeks ago. It was hard to start, seemed like the battery was dead, but the battery is only a year old and I had it tested at the shop and it tested excellent. Holds a charge and is full. Everytime I would go to start it, I would put it in forward, press the gas and it would turn over very slowly or not at all. I would keep moving the lever from forward to reverse multiple times until it started to turn over than it would finally run. Yet, everytime I stopped and it would shut off like normal. I would have a hard time to get it going again. Than finally last weekend it would not turn over at all. Therefore I thought it was the forward/reverse switch. I purchased a brand new one yesterday, hooked it up the same as before and guess what? It still does absolutely nothing. Now I am pissed. What the heck could it be?? I know absolutely nothing about electrical crap!!!!!!!!!! Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks guys in advance.

check the brushes in your starter or check the starter solenoid by jumping across the 2 large terminals if it cranks normally its probably the solenoid.......

starter/generator bad... Just as Anthem said... jump it to see if it starts. Once you get it started, check the voltage out put too.

Could also be buried corrosion in your battery cables.
