steering slop question
Just bought a 92' marathon and noticed the steering wheel has some slop in it. I'd like to tighten it up. Has anyone here ever attepted that and is it even possible.

Re: steering slop question
I should note its not in the front end we checked it's in the steering wheel/ controls you have to turn it about and inch each direction before it starts turning the wheels.

Re: steering slop question
It's not adjustable. You'll need to find out which part(s) are worn and replace them. It is very common on that gearbox. If the steering geometry is set correctly, it is not noticable.(camber, caster, tow)

Re: steering slop question
It has been noted in this forum of a pin on the lower steering shaft to gearbox getting loose and giving this issue. Check the forum for this type of repair or check a schematic of the steering system and you will see the small pin that holds the shaft to the lower gear.
