There is a mark on the idler arm and the pitman shaft that should be lined up.

not really noticeable by eye, maybe 1/2" toward the drivers side.
can the idler arm spin on the shaft? I kinda figured the pitman shaft jumped inside the box. |

thanks, that did it. Finally got the time to put an air gun to it and free that nut up, it's been up on stands for weeks
