Default G2 rear differential

Having problems with the first cart I have owned, looking for help. The cart will not shift into forward with the gear handle. The cables are good and lubed and move the lever on the trans, but not far enough to go into forward. If I put a wrench on the nut of the lever it will "click" and go all the into forward and turn the tire forward....Thanks for your input

You either have a damaged part, like the lever or shift fork, that is bent,or the cables are messed up internally, and not moving fully. If it shifts easily at the axle with the cables unhooked, look at the shifter and cables. They should move the same amount,if one is.moving less, there is the issue.Hope this helps.

I agree. Disconnect the cable from the trans and work the lever back and forth to see if it will go into gear that way. If so, you have a problem with the cables most likely. Sometimes the handle will strip inside. Remove the handle and take a look at the splines.

If the trans won't go into gear, check the fluid level. If it's low it could have damaged something, add some fluid and try again. Hopefully this is not the problem.

Unhook the cables and see if they move themselves and not froze up in the sleeve

Thanks for the reply.......the oil is good and with the cables off, the rear will not go all the way forward without a hard turn from a wrench. Looks like I will be digging deeper into the rear end. Was just wishing someone had the same problem so I would know what look for and maybe some shortcuts to taking the rear end apart.............Thanks

Need to read up on adjusting the shifter cables before you take the tranny apart.

Easy/free stuff first, always!!
