Default 99 EZGO with 350 Robyn takes forever to start

Hello BGW I have this ezgo with the Robyn 350 in it. When I go to start it it will take forever for it to start running. It sets there and acts like it has to build up compression before it will start running. When it finally runs it runs fine but when you **** it off for just a Lil bit it does the same thing again. What am I looking for. Thanks.

Tried to start this morning. Same thing. It is weird almost like it has to build compression or something. Even the exhaust gets warm before it picks up and goes. Put a new carburetor on it and it does the same thing.

Have you checked the valve adjustments? .004 intake and exhaust.

Look at my post, near yours on whether the carburetor is affected by the motor being at a slope on a raised cart.

I haven't seen any replies yet, and don't know whether your cart is raised. We may have the same problem.

I'm thinking that having the carburetor float bowl on a slope may cause this. But still waiting for some replies.

The carb position really doesn't affect anything - I've done a ton of 6" lifts as well as some custom (up to almost 9") lifts and never once has the angle of the engine or carb become an issue ... Scotty is on the right track here, check the valves to begin with, once you have them set correctly we can go from there

As mentioned I have the same problem with a 1998 raised workhorse with a Robin 350 engine.

Valves are correct .004 - .005in, I rebuilt carb with with kit about 3 years ago and have used Efree gas and Sta-bil since.
Engine has about 100 hours since machine shop rebuild and has 150-160psi in both cylinders.
Fuel pump is about 6 months old and an improved flow outboard in-line filter has been installed.

Really would like some more suggestions.
If nothing else I will probably take the carb completely apart again, and clean parts with carb cleaner.

is it a fuel delivery issue? Pull the hose of and see what kind of flow is happening. Just my 2 cents

Good evening. I have not been able to put my hands on it yet but tomorrow I am gonna work on it. This this has been rebuilt and has a new carb on it. No idea why yet it won't start up like it should.

Put a clear filter between the pump and carb, and see if fuel is drawing back when parked, likely it needs a pump rebuild,if the motor checks out and you've done the carb properly. Is the choke working properly too?Hope this helps.
