Yami G1 won't start....read stickies
Hello, I am a paid supporting member of this great site. I have done a bit of searching for a fix,,, I've read the Stickies so ....
My Yami G1 is not pulling fuel from the tank, short of pulling the fuel pump, I've checked the fuel filter and I know for a fact that the pump is not drawing fuel. So my ?? is should I pull the fuel pump and break it down and clean it, OR ...is there something else I should check first ,,, THANKS in Advance for any and all helpful replies.. |

Sounds like your suction line is plugged or the pump is bad. Check line and all lines for a crack, you can also install a primer bulb to see if fuel is indeed leaving tank.

Crank bad crank seals will also cause pump to stop working

The pulse Line can become disconnected from the block. Hard to see but pump won't work. Been there done that!
Oh and be sure the line is primed. It won't pull if line is empty. Tj |

I had the same issue with my G1. I cleaned the pump, replaced the crank seals, changed out fuel filter, replaced the old vacuum line and primed the system with compressed air. Haven't had an issue since. I would start off priming the line like tjsg1 said. I'm pretty sure that what my problem was all along.

Ok, I removed the fuel line from the carb intake, and siphoned with a small manual fluid pump , while the gas pedal was depressed. Within a few seconds (1 to 2) & fuel came out of the line removing any air in the system. I then clamped the fuel line and reattached it to the carb.
Tried to start my Yami and still no start. I'm leaning towards the fuel pump diaphragm , it is the original pump.... Again thanks for all the replies...Please ... Leaning towards new diaphragm and gaskets for the fuel pump...? Any ideas on best way to proceed..? |

You need to check the pulse line first, take apart the pump as well

Also dump a bit of that fuel down the carb and see if it tries to fire.

I attached a picture of the fuel pump...exploded view, the three 3 pieces of black rubber, should be one piece.
