G2 replaced F&R cables,input shaft,and driven clutch with no F&R
Replaced the F&R cables ,input shaft, and driven clutch. After weeks of adjusting still can't get ot to stay in gear and or I lose one or the other.or both Not sure what I missed or not seeimg any help would be great when it does stay in forward right before you come to a complete stop it will jump out of gear. And not lock back in gear

Re: G2 replaced F&R cables,input shaft,and driven clutch with no F&R
The cables do have to be tightened against each other (tighten both), pretty sure that is what the springs are on them for. If you don't it wont stay in gear, if you tighten too much it will be hard to shift. Also need to center the shifter. I roll the cart by hand or you can take the drive belt off and turn the secondary, and move the shifter very slowly from center to see where it hits the gears. Then adjust one up and one down to get it centered or very slightly more into forward but very close to same. Lube the shifter shaft to make it work easier if needed, mine was dry and it helped. Far as tightness of cables It should pop into gear and stay, but not be too hard to shift that it is uncomfortable to do (and I get yelled at lol). Fiddle with the cable adjustment until you get it, then likely you will never have to touch it again. Adjust them opposite to move neutral, adjust both the same to tighten or loosen shift action.
Here is pics of mine if it helps http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-y...placement.html |
