Re: G16 whistle/whining sound
So i took the main belt off and ran it and no noise. So I think this would isolate it to the transaxle. I gave the clutch a shake to see if there was any obvious play in the input shaft and there was not. I pulled the diff cover off and nothing obvious there. I took another video from the rear and the noise is very responsive to the gas pedal. If i let off the pedal the sound stop almost instantly and if i pulse the pedal the sound pulses too. Nothing at lower revs though. Are we thinking input shaft bearing?
Thanks! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=l1O6wtCaoDw Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk |

Re: G16 whistle/whining sound
Noticed that my governor shaft also has a fair bit of play in it. I took a video of that as well... Not sure if that could be causing an issue but thought it was worth mentioning. Is there a way to bypass the governor to see if it is causing any issues, without permanently disabling it. (I want to keep the governor in case someone borrows the cart and goes down a steep hill and blows it up or something)

Re: G16 whistle/whining sound
I disconnected the governor today and manually ran the throttle on the carb with my hand and no noise. It must be the governor; although i didn't want to, I think the easiest solution will be to drill out the bracket to bypass the governor. I can replace it if and when i need to replace the input shaft bearing. Now i will just need to add a tach... Hopefully with a visual and audible alarm on it. Thanks to cgtech for the quick replies along the way.
