Default How screwed am I?

Yesterday I was replacing the stock rear shocks with heavy duty ones. When I got the shock off it dropped and somehow sheered a cable running to the motor off and left it with a small portion of the screw sticking out. Please take a look at the picture. I have no idea how to repair this.

How does crap like that even happen !?
Any local motor or alternator & starter shop should be able to repair this one for you.

Or look at it this way, now's your chance to get a better motor. FSIPs motor 48-speedey is a good one. And can allegedly be run on the stock controller.

I don't see how that used shell above would help you at all, it's too far shredded.

If the motor ran good. Get one of these nuts and clean up the threads on the bolt coming out of the motor. Carefully screw the new nut on the motor DO NOT let the stud in the motor turn. Tighten up the nut. And bolt your cable back to the new nut on the motor. You have nothing to lose. You might be able to save your motor

The studs are spot welded to the windings, solder won't hold. How you gonna attach them? That's "motor rebuild shop" territory.

Talking Re: How screwed am I?

Thank you for all the replies. I think I am going to take scottyb's advice and find a place to take it to. Hopefully they can fix it. Just my luck when I try to work on something myself
At least I was able to get the new shocks installed and tires on.
