Default G5 Parts

Where can I find parts for a G5? Model tag specifically shows JG5-301760. Checked several sites and they all seem to skip over the G5. Will parts from another model fit? Looking for oversized piston/ rings, gasket set, and valves.

You'd be best off by using OEM parts. Same engine as a G9.

Search part numbers. partzilla is usually the least expensive.

I also find part #s on TNT carts and then buy as Dave suggested.

Are you totally sure you even have a G5? "JG5" in the serial prefix doesn't mean G5. JG5 is a G9, like this..which I bet you have

I didn't check the number. I was assuming he knew what he had.

No, I didn't know that, thank you for the clarification. I just assumed that is how the model numbers began... JG1, JG5, JG22, etc... This info should make things much easier. I do like to use oem parts over aftermarket, but is there a particular reason you bring that up with this engine? Are the aftermarkets known to be of bad quality?

If your serial number starts with JG5 then you would have a G9. Great carts, they're more like little tanks, really. https://www.golfcarttiresupply.com/w...aha-golf-cart/

As for piston/rings/etc, yes stay with genuine Yamaha parts unless you want to rebuild the motor again in a year (or less). The aftermarket parts just don't last...

If it's smoking and your compression is still good, it will still run forever as long as you don't run it out of oil. The oil control rings tend to stick or break and create quite a smoke show.

There are just some things that you shouldn't skimp on. Electrical parts, too...
Just my opinion.
