1997 Club Car gas Engine
I bought this cart for 500$ sight unseen. It is in fairly good shape although it does not have the Kawasaki engine it has the KF82. Is this right or has someone changed out the engine. it does run well, it has a problem with the rearend I just have not started fooling with it yet. Please reply.

Re: 1997 Club Car gas Engine
You might want to check the serial number, If it has one,
it may read AG87XX-XXXXXX then it'll be a 1987 It's to my understanding that in 92 (or there abouts) they changed to the Kawi FE290 OHV and, in 96 they changed the rotation of the engine and transaxle from counter clockwise to clockwise, with the KF82 being counter clockwise, a 97 transaxle being clockwise, you'd be moving forward, with the shifter in reverse! Still not too bad of a price though! |

According to the ID tag it is a 97. Would a 97 have headlights from the factory. I think this cart has some morphadite issues.A peace of this one and a peace of that one.

but, not usually on the standard "course" cart! It is a good possability that the engine, engine pan, and the transaxle were swapped out for some reason! A 97 frame, with a pre 92 rearend is not all that bad of a situation though... (I see a Big Block in the future! ) I hope you get your transaxle issue worked out! Happy Carting! |
