Just did my flathead Scottyb and noticed the difference in the placement of the spark plug. My 89 is directly over the exhaust valve. What is up with that?

They must have drilled your's wrong
I dunno Honestly that was the only KF82 I opened so I have nothing else to compare it to..... Maybe someone else cn shed some light on the sparlplug location thing |

I believe they placed over the exhaust to improve emmissions. The burn ran to the intake and the entire charge passed the flame wall on the way out.
