My bud is looking at Yamaha.
I have no idea what it is, or anything about it.
I have only worked on EZ Go and some on CC. I really wish he would get an EZG because he is going to want me to work on it for him. He says it has the same motor as my Workhorse, that either is a tell tale on his golf cart knowledge, or someone has been busy modding it. Is there any model I should stay away from ? Is one preferred over the other ? Are there any advantages over EZG or CC that I can remind myself of while I work on it ??? Thanks.. |

Re: My bud is looking at Yamaha.
Steer him toward whatever you are comfortable working on.... I like ezgo and some CC ........ you have my sympathies.
Ask him who is going to work on it? Tell him straight up that if he is thinking you will help him with it just cuz 'it's a golf cart' then, he may want to rethink what make and model he gets ..... Good luck Disclaimer: This post is in no way intended to degrade the value of your Yamaha or diminish your Yamaha golf cart experience |

Re: My bud is looking at Yamaha.
ya if your going to be fixing it get the one your good with.
( but if he gets the yamaha odds are you won't have to know how to fix it lol.) If he wants the yamaha i personaly like the g9/g2 model (4 stroke), or if he finds a g1 (2 stroke) thier a well made too but there and older one, but he might be able to get it cheaper. |

Re: My bud is looking at Yamaha.
Yeah..he is talking 500 for it, and it is supposed to be 'running'.
I haven't noticed many running decent golf carts around for that..so I am suspicious right off the bat. It kind of rakes, because I know he is going to want to haul stuff on it, and I know of a very easily repairable WH that could be had for 500. Oh well.. If he gets it, and I help him with it..it will be a good experience for me. |

Re: My bud is looking at Yamaha.
IMHO yami is the best cart out there, but they all have their good and bad points and are not that far apart. With the info here you should have no problem working on a Yamaha, however it would be a good excuse not to work on it if you don't want to.
