1997 TXT Shutters and inches forward
Hello again BGW I have been on the road recently and the only use my new toy has gotten was my son using it daily to retrieve the mail 1500' round trip up slight grade. The other day he called me and said the cart was broken*GASP* he said it was just crawling forward. Upon returning home this evening I did test it and he was correct it only shutters when you go past about 20% on the pedal forward or reverse it seems more so in forward. I did a few Mr. Obvious checks and all my connections were tight and clean there were no real flags other than a small wire on one of the switches in the FR switch was not connected but my cart also has no key switch so im not sure where it should be..... some info on the cart are 4awg wiring with a 700amp GE controller the man I bought it from didnt upgrade anything else he ran out of money and it worked well enough for him so now its mine to finish :) I just need a little kick in the right direction.
Thanks |

Re: 1997 TXT Shutters and inches forward
start with the batteries.... that shutter indicates at least 1 or more batteries are bad.

after you are finished charging them, let them sit for a couple hours at least and then check them.

Get your meter out and check the voltage across the batteries when you press the go pedal. If you see a voltage drop (say anything less than 34 volts), you most likely have a bad battery cable or connection. Remove you battery cables one at a time to inspect and clean.
