FE400 performance goodies?
I'm thinking of upgrading from my FE290 engine but need to stay with a clockwise rotated solution. (I have a 20:1 reverse gear) FE400 seems like the easiest solution. Does any one make performance parts for these? Like exhaust & carb jets, etc?

Re: FE400 performance goodies?
i also have a 272 rear( but it is in a 272) it has the fe350 in it with 23 inch tires. not too bad but no speed demon it gets there quick. gotta remember that even with a motor upgrade it is only gonna turn x rpm. my motor turns no faster than a regular 290.

Re: FE400 performance goodies?
I agree Aaron - not really going for break neck speeds - I think the new CA 272's claim 19mpg top speed. The kids are getting heavier and this year the 290 struggled up the hills when towing a trailer with 10 adults and 10 children at Halloween. The last several years it could do it fine. I know the 23" tires hurt, but jumping up to the 14.9:1 axle should have counter acted that. The tribe is getting heavier!
