Default Hour meter installation

I want to install an hour meter on my 2003 EZGO. Anyone have a wiring diagram or instructions on where to connect. Obviously I only want it to run when the engine is running and not just with the key on. Thanks

This is the one I fitted to my cart. It is a tachometer and a hours run meter. It is a real snal to install and yes it only registers when the engine is running

Actually I just reread your question, it looks like you already have one and need to know how to wire it, sorry.

Dave thanks for the info anyway. Thanks to your info I just bought one off eBay. The installation seems easy enough, just wrap a wire around a spark plug wire. Did you do the camo decal on you cart? If you did where did you buy it?
Thanks

Hey I'm glad that worked out for you. I am very pleased with mine. I removed my governor and now I can keep it below 4000 rpm and I know how many hours I have on it since the rebuild. You can also set it for service intervals so you know when to change the oil.

Thanks for noticing the body wrap. I found this cart abandoned in the woods. It had been driven until the engine seized and then beaten to death with a hammer. I managed to get it sraightened and filled but I realised that if I sprayed it gloss there were still lots of ripples and dings that would really stand out. It seemed to me that a camo theme would hide a multitude of sins and it worked out for me. Here is a link to the product

All the best

I purchased the same tach./hour meter. When installing it, do you have to fasten the wire that gets wraped around the spark plug wire? I'm thinking heat shrink tubing, tie wrap, or electrical tape.

I just put three loops around the plug wire and then poked the end under the first loop and pulled it tight. Of course a piece of electrical tape will not hurt either

You can also get it from here $59.99 for 4x5 sheets. 2, 40 sq ft would be 120
But he's not a site sponsor but a hunting gun shop

Does the body wrap go over rust or do you have to sand it down to metal?

Check out this page: http://www.camoskinz.com/application.htm

It tells you how to apply to a truck and recommends a clean surface to be sure the product sticks.
