I went back to the proper amounts according to the specifcations and have not had any problems since.

So. I'm not supposed to be filling until it comes out of the rubber plug? I felt like that was a TON of gear oil. Will it eventually just bleed off to the correct amount?

I would imagine but I did want to stress everything so I drained it and refilled it. The bolt on the axle is really asn overflow from what I can tell. Plus the place where we have our cart just redid all the streets and I didn't want to leave a trail everywhere I went.
