01 DS acting up. Stops running

My cart started doing this earlier in the summer. I was driving it and stopped for a while to have some "refreshments". When I came back it acted like it was out of gas. I pushed it back to my camper. The next morning it would run but not very well. I have been busy this summer and didn't make it back for a few weeks. It started running fine again. But the following morning would not run. Acted like it's not getting gas. I replaced both fuel filters and it took right off. Only to leave me stranded again with the same symptoms, which are pushing on the gas making some sounds but not moving. I noticed some fragments of leaves in the gas tank and I was considering pumping out all the fuel and either filtering it or replacing it. I am hoping someone else can steer me in the right direction. Thanks for any helpful suggestions.

well if you have stuff in the tank then yes by all means you want to drain and clean it.......if its getting sucked up to the tube in the tank its gonna stop fuel flow ...........when cart sits the stuff settles but when your driving your stirring the pot and it may just be blocking the pick up tube in there.............................

Well I drained the gas this weekend and replaced it with new. Still doing the same thing. Somebody suggested cleaning out the carburetor.

yes thats a good idea also just make sure you take your time and tear it completely apart..........hit every hole in every jet and in every part of the carb and when ready you a compressor to blow thur things......anything less is a waste...........don,t forget the float needle........................

Finally broke down and took it to a friend who owns a Power Equipment dealership. His guys cleaned out the gas tank and the carb. Runs like a top again!
