Does the battery charge
Does the battery in a 2006 Club Car DS charge itself as the cart is driven like a car. I'm wondering because i'm installing my radio in the cart. If it doesnt does anyone know if the battery would hold enough charge over a weekend of camping to keep the cart moving.

Re: Does the battery charge
The starter motor turns into an alternator and starts charging the battery when the engine starts. You should be fine with a simple stereo and lights on your gas cart. Easy way to prove it to yourself is to measure the battery voltage at rest, engine off. With the probes affixed to the battery terminals, start the cart and drive away. The indicated voltage should climb when the engine RPMs climb, probably leveling off around 14.5 volts.
