Default Newb with '86 CC lift kit questions

Just picked up my first golf cart yesterday, an 86 CC, looks to be all original. Engine is seized and wont turn over at all. But couldn't complain for the price. After reading up on here and looking around it seems as though there are several different engine to install all with their pro's & cons. I may be able to fix the stock Kawasaki flathead, hoping to get it out and torn down tonight. The first question I had was actually about lift kits. When looking them up, it seems some are just replacement spindles, others have a-arms. and the years they fit vary according to which site your on. So what should I be looking for?

I went with a 6" spindle lift on my old DS. The pre-'97 kit will work, but you will need to get 4 rear shock extensions and modify the rear upper shock plates. No big deal if you know what's coming.

I went with the All Sports A-arm lift from Trademark Carts. I liked the look from the front, kind of a more off road look, not that we off road much, just liked the look. Here's a link to my build on my '87 DS: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/lifte...ot-lifted.html
Good luck with your build.

Thanks for the help. Got the engine out and torn down most of the way last night. Looks like someone ran it without any oil. Lower end of the rod seized on the crank. No to figure out if I'm going to fix this one or replace it and with what. I'd love to put a big block block in it, but that won't happen, too $$$ :(
