yamaha g2 smokes will barely go
1986 yamaha g2a has started to smoke and will barely go. also trying to learn what the relationship is between the two cables from the gas pedal.

Might want to check your compression, could be the rings are bad.
There should be a cable from the gas peddle to the govenor on the rear end and a cable from the govenor to the carb. |

ran like crazy two days ago then started smoking and i don't think it actually starting the engine just the starter moving it.i guess i will have to buy a manual to get the adjustment on the governor cables correct and to learn what the compression is supposed to be.

pull valve cover off I bet you find a push rod loose in there push down on spring re insert or take valves out clean everything reset valves I set them a bit tighter as I have seen this happen on 3 different yamahammers
