G1 vin help/trying to build motor
I have a G1 I know this much trying to rebuild motor want to shave head and order new cylinder only vin I can kind is on the crossmember above rearend witch is J10-004693 I believe it is a 79 but wantt to make sure not a 82 2nd I am wanting to build motor for low end any suggestion was thinking on bumpping comp and putting blaster carb don't know what to do with muffler

Should be a # on the back side of the flywheel housing.

Appears to be a '79 from the serial number.

Ok thanks for ur help do u think it would be wise to run numbers off the motor to make sure was not changed or is that unlikely

Unlikely that it was changed but it wouldn't hurt any, just to be on the safe side.
