Sealed bearings in the transaxle?
I am replacing bearings on a transaxle. The local Club Car shop only had sealed bearings, does anyone have an opinion on whether I should try to remove the seals since these will be in the case? Will the bearings that were originally sealed fail prematurely due to any tolerances that are created by removing the seals?

Re: Sealed bearings in the transaxle?
Either bearing will work just don't remove the seal. I must say I would see if I could find the unsealed bearing.

Re: Sealed bearings in the transaxle?
Atta boy... If the bearing has an outer side, where it would be exposed to the elements, just remove the inner side seal. If it was a rubber cap type of seal, they are meant to be removed if needed.

Re: Sealed bearings in the transaxle?
you should use the seals,it keeps filings that may be in the gear oil from the bearings,as well as extra seals help keep oil in,3 seal are better then 1

Re: Sealed bearings in the transaxle?
Disagree, otherwise, all the manufactures would have already done that. Sealed bearings are not needed for any bearing completely encased in a transaxle that is never exposed to elements and the fluid keeps them flushed.
