Default Delay when pushing throttle

I have a 2001 ezgo txt everything has been working fine until the other day when you depress the throttle pedal there is a delay before it goes and then the cart jumps forward depending on how much you have the pedal depressed. Any suggestions as to what this might be. I also have whine coming from the rear it gets louder the faster you go but this has gotten better the more I drive.

Welcome to BGW!

Listen for the solenoid click, it should click when the throttle begins to move ... if there is a delay in the solenoid activation this could be an adjustment in the peddle box or a sticky micro switch (same location).

Have you checked the differential fluid level.

Is the location of the solenoid under the floor mat and if this gets wet could that be the cause of the delay. I will check the rear end out tonight!
Thanks

THe solenoid is located under the black cover under the passenger seat and the micro switch and throttle induction system (which controls peddle position signal) IS located under the floor mat and is adversely effected by water.

Remove the rocker panel scuff guard and lift the mat, remove the peddle box cover and dry it out with a hair dryer if wet.

I found out that the delay only seems to happen after the cart sits for a little while and only in the forward position I am assuming that the solenoid is about to fail or is there something can be fixed?
