![]() I have a 76 D model I want to paint. I do not expect to have a fine high gloss show finish. I have bought some tractor paint to try. I have never painted fiberglass before so! Do I use a primer or paint bare? I have repaired some of the glass that was cracked but I am far from good at it. What and how do you recommend??

![]() most of that tractor paint will stick to anything.. If you wanted a nice glossy look you would sand very well use a primer then basecoat followed by a clear coat.. you cant wreck a paint job by priming first...you can wreck by not priming... but all depends on what your going for... bare paint might be just fine for ya. good luck

![]() I have a gallon of general purpose primer. I will use it. I just wasn't sure about fiberglass. I will need to pick up some clear coat. I forgot the sun will get it if I don't.
