Leaking seals very likely. Replace both.

Is it cranking at the same speed in forward and reverse? If it is slower in forward then most likely your F- R switch needs cleaning.
If it cranks at the same speed but starts better in reverse, does it run better in reverse? If it does then it is possible that the timing has slipped. For some unknown reason EZGO placed the pulsar coil on a ring held down with two screws. This is possibly a throw back from the days of having points. If the screw get loosened the ring will slip.
As VictorJohn states, it could also be the crankshaft seals. What happens is that for 99% of the time the crankshaft is spinning in the forward direction and the seals get worn. In reverse the seals can snug up a little and give a tighter seal. Anywho you have to get to the pulsar to change the seal so I would look to that first.

it runs excellent in both directions, just starts hard sometimes in forward, not always but maybe 20% of the time, I noticed today fire is jumping from the under side of the coil, when the humidity got so high here that things actually had moisture hanging on them, so Iam going to replace it, I dont know if that has anything to do with the problem or not, thanks for the input, greatly appreciated.
