Exclamation yamaha g16 govenor problem.

I have a 1999 g16 and I am wanting more speed. I have read the forums and I am getting ready to tighten 10mm screw on governor on carb. My problem is Elsewhere on the net people are saying that I would need to adjust the governor on the rear end under the black plastic in the rear of my cart before I adjust the one on or near the carb? Plus I was wondering if I have to remove the air filter housing to get to the governor near the carb?

There is not a governor on the carb. The only 10mm on carb will take the carb bowl off. You will need to tighten in the 10 mm on rear end to speed cart up. If you wanted to bypass governor then you would need to go to the carb but not for simple adjusting it.

The governor is on the top of the rear end. Tighten the 10mm adjusting nut.

the nut I am looking at is long and its connected to an arm. Is that the right one? If so how much should I tighten it?

The governer is used to keep from over reving you motor.Cranking the nut in will speed up your motor .The purchase of a tiny-tac is money well spent, you can keep an eye on the revs CARTPARTS PLUS has them .He is one of the sponsors here. He can advise you more.

If you tighten the nut about half way or so you will be safe.
