Default Alltrax program voltage lower than DVM

The voltage on the controller programmer shows 48.9 volts whereas the DVM shows 51.5. Should there be this much difference in pack voltage and voltage at the controller?

It would depend on where they were measuring the voltage vs where you are measuring the voltage.

Looks like they only have two choices, between the B- and B+ terminals on the controller and between the B- and KSI terminals on the controller.

Best way to find out is call or e-mail Alltrax.

I have been wondering what causes the difference too. My alltrax controller, cycle analyst and several multimeters all read slightly different. If you are not familiar with the cycle analyst it combines a speedometer, volt meter, ammeter, kilowatt meter, watt-hour per mile and a bunch more stuff.

They all read the amperage differently also. I have no idea which one to trust.

One possible answer, precharge resistor. Try checking the voltage going into (will match DVM) and out of (will match controller) the large terminals of the solenoid.
