Denango Rover XL - Speed Tuning
The current high speed is 25mph (24 mph GPS) what can I expect to improve to with tuning?
I have discovered my controller is is most likely FJ 350A which means a cable is available from CartCables the software suggested was ACS1-20210427-1-E-C.fdev which loaded on my pc without any issues. I have programmed ebike controllers and understand the com port connection issues. Hoping to accomplish high speed of 27mph and move the low speed up to 19 mph from 15 mph, is this a reasonable goal and is there a step-by-step tutorial for this procedure? Thanks in advance - Joe. |

The FJ controllers are easy to program, look thru this forum at the evolution programming topics. You'll use the notes on EV48-400 and EV48-400-A but NOT the EV48-400-C Look at this post for links to tips on speed and acceleration https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/show...7&postcount=63 |

Re: Denango Rover XL - Speed Tuning
I have been exploring FJPROJECT.fjp thanks for whoever made this file available it is better way to learn without screwing up in on-the-job training.
Anyway, when my cable arrives and I make the first connection will I be able to save the current configuration as a backup file with this software prior to making changes? Attached below is a recreation of the FJPROJECT Zonal Gear Mode data in an excel file there are two sections Original and Change which can act as a record when you are updating. FJPROJECT-excel.zip Regards - Joe. |

You did good with that excel file and I've attached a line graph from your numbers. It's a nice smooth ramp which is exactly what you want with RPM partitions. If the ramp line was was jagged then your rpm ramp up experience would feel 'bumpy'. I would suggest that you set partition 7 be to your max rpm, which in this case is 6000 |

Re: Denango Rover XL - Speed Tuning
On my to do list the cable is in a bag on my workbench, I'll post my results next week some time. Anyway, I live about 20 miles southeast of Tampa in a retirement community and we just got our power back on this morning from hurricane Milton.
Good news, I had charged up Wednesday morning and we lost power at about 6:40 that day, and was without for about 60 hours. In that time I used the 15a 120V outlet on my Denango to power my refrigerator intermittently keeping the freezer just below freezing, at the end there was still 48% charge on the battery, think I could go 4 days like this. I have lived here 20 years and the longest we ever went without power was a 1/2 day. I also have an ebike with a 52v 20/ah battery we used to recharge the phones, tablet computer and led flashlights. Dodged a bullet for sure. |
