If your controller is made to handle 48 volts then yes your motor will handle the 48 volts also. You will gain 20-25% in overall power and torque. One of the best upgrades you can do.

Oh and WELCOME to the forum!!

Welcome to the 48V DCS club! you will have many fun times ripping around with your new found power, and squeeling the tires!

Well actualy you will see a major improvement over your stock speed, and take off "Umph"!.. I have been running my street cart for a year with a stock motor combo with a alltrax DCX 500.. motor still runs fine.. but i want to chekc it in the spring, and polish up the comm and check the brushes.

As a alltrax dealer here in canada, ive gotten many different tips and ways to crank the most out of these controllers, and make them shine!

Thing is you might loose your regen feature when going to 48V.. its just something that has to do with the motor not being able to produce the proper voltage back to the controller when regen is enabled, because the internal fields are designed for a 36V app..

Good luck, and happy Cartin!
