Default vglide grinding

I am working on a 90 CC with a brand new vglide. The brush on the end of the arm grinds against the contacts. I've used the screw to adjust the arm but it still does it. How tight against contacts should the arm be? Is there anyway to lubricate the contacts?

Thanks,

Doug

doug don,t lube them if theres no more adjustment i would try ( be careful while doing it ) sanding the copper contacts down a hair and the movable contact also........take some off each part,...........it should slide smoothly over the contacts........this may take several attemps but you should be able to get it moving smoothly.............good luck and post your fix.............................

Well, I sanded down the contacts but the accelerator is sticking a bit. At this point I can't tell if it's the arm sticking to the contacts or something with the pedal that is sticking. Also, the accelerator pedal is pretty loose, as in it moves side to side a little bit.

At this point before going any further I would take the V Glide back to supplier and get a different one. Its possible that one or more contacts or the moveable brush is defective and supplier should replace?

I think I found the problem. After taking out the entire v-glide, I noticed that the terminal for the wire on the wiper arm was point up towards the contacts. When the wiper arm came down, sometimes it didn't quite engage the micro switch. I loosened the terminal end and pointed it down. Now when the arm comes down, it clicks the micro switch.

Thanks,

Doug
