Deep Cycle Battery

I have a cushman gc400 36volt for restoration, can i use a deep cycle battery (12volts 100ah) used for solar power energy and charged it with a normal 36volt golf cart charger. reason for using DCB for solar power rathern than the 6volt original batteries is for space and weight trimming.

In general to your cart 36 volts is 36 volts BUT what matters is that if your battery is not of the Golf Cart or "Commercial" Deep Cycle design is that it will NOT give very long lasting service. Marine/RV Deep Cycle battery are hybrid starting batteries and don't do well in golf carts at all as they were not designed to put out the big energy burst that we ask of our carts. Also keep in mind the amp hour rating of the six 6-volt battery as compaired to the three 12-volt battery will end up being the "size" of your gas tank resulting in a small operating range before needing recharge....
