Ezgo txt no power acts like starving and skipping

I have an 87 txt 2 stroke got it to fix up got it running and ran pretty good for some time even with the piston scored it started losing power and not running good sputtering etc acts like starving had already rebuilt the pump and cleaned carb have a friend With same unit tried plugs coil carb wiring anything we could switch no change knowing piston was damaged and carb was not in great shape reboot the top end and replaced the carb got unit back together and same acts like it is skipping and starving getting good fuel reeds in good shape this happened all of a sudden while driving one day will run but not well and will not reach full rpm choke just kills it unless cold then helps muffler is free and clear any thoughts
