starter
I have an ST350, it starts the first time every day but the next time it just whines and the starter will not turn, sometimes I can keep oushing the gas pedal and it will crank, is this a starter problem, a micro switch problem or belt problem?

Re: starter
Sounds like a battery, or corroded cable problem.
The whine you hear is most likely an electrical whine from the solenoid. EEEEEEEEE. Like that? Check battery voltage, and then step on the pedal to see how much it drops. A fully charged battery should be around 12.7 volts. If the voltage drops to 9.6 volts or less when stepping on the pedal, that would mean a bad battery. (70 degree F day) I would also put the cart up on jacks, and check the battery voltage while it's running. It should be up around 14 volts while running. If not, it's time to dig deeper for a voltage regulator test. |
