Default G29 starting slowly....

I read through the stickies and didn't find anything on my cart starting slowly so figured I'd just ask.

My Cart starts slow as in 3-10 seconds after pressing on the gas pedal. If not run after a few hrs I'll pull choke and still have to wait out a few seconds. I checked the battery and it's fully charged. Is a 3-10 second delay normal? If not what's the fix? Thx for any help TS

lol no it's not normal, either your linkage adjustment from pedal to carb is way off. check the accelerator cable and make sure its not stretched or starting to fray apart too while your at it. very very shortly after you press down the pedal the cable at the carb should start to open the butterfly. it's also possible your carb has an issue too, but I didn't ask is it a fuel injected G29 or with carb? Also, if its an actual delay before you even start rolling, your starter belt may even be slipping and might need tightening up

So the real question is does it start slowly as in it crawls like a snail, or just doesn't start at all for 3-10 seconds?

It just doesn't start/turn over for 3-10 seconds after sitting for a while. Example.... I can try and start it after sitting all night and it starts slow with a 3-10 second delay. After driving a bit it will start right up upon pushing pedal. It runs and drives just fine once the engine starts running. Oh and not fuel injected, Hope this helps.

And when I mean slow start, I can push the pedal down hold it there and nothing happens and engine does not start to turn. But holding it down for 3-10 seconds the engine then starts to turn. Again only after sitting for a while...

Under a load it should still read 12v on the meter correct, while pressing the gas pedal? I'll check it and report back...

If its cranking low and gets caught on the compression stroke, it could drop to 10 volts or below

I second this idea .

The clue here is the fact that after you finally get it started, it acts ok. That's because running it around charges the battery allowing the battery to crank better. Let us know what you find. - RAY
