Default Club car hesitates to move when accelerator is pressed

Put it in either forward or reverse and press the gas peddle. It hesitates about 5-10 seconds and then it takes off. Runs ok once it begins to roll. What is causing this?

Does it hesitate to turn the starter? Or does the starter turn but the engine not take off & run?

My 2011 Precedent doesn't always respond immediately to the accelerator being pressed. During the course of my weekly round of golf, about 70% of the time the starter and engine kick straight in but for the other 30% it hesitates for no more than 2 or 3 seconds before the starter turns vigorously and the engine fires and runs. It's totally unpredictable but not difficult to live with. However, I'd also welcome an explanation as to why it happens if anyone out there has one. Once running, the buggy never misfires and runs smoothly with good power levels.

Check battery under a load first. If battery checks good, then it turns to starter motor or solenoid.
