Default Help! Need to separate G9 case

Recently picked up a 92' G9 that smoked like a train, have the engine out currently and am trying to split the case to get the piston out. Once it's out I can stick a bore gauge in and check to see what size piston and rings I need to up to. I'm currently at a point where I am unable to separate the crank case cover from the shaft. (I take it, it's pressed on) I'm not sure how I'm going to get a puller attached to remove it? Can I go in from the opposite side and remove the ... flywheel? (Not engine savvy)

Thanks ahead

Eggie

Cover is not pressed on the crank. Bearing will remain in cover, crank will remain in block. You will not get any help from removing flywheel, because crank will still be trapped by its attachment to piston & rod.
