Thanks for the replies. I am in the Sandhills of NC near Pinehurst, Aberdeen, Southern Pines.

S/N J55 104*. Carb is a "Makini". I want a reliable yard work machine, nothing fancy. Appears the P/O drove the cart with the air cleaner either off or torn open and without the fan shroud. Yes Ray I am interested in your shroud if it will fit. I guess I can't PM, too new.

When I had the drum off the adjuster would not retract enough to pick up the pawl, adjust cables?

Is this the oil light painted over and disconnected?

That is it, I just took mine out, no need for it. Make it a switch Hole or something if you want.

Cables under the floor panel. If you clean the shoes and drums with some sandpaper/etc and then make sure the lever that moves the shoes is completely free, assemble, adjust so the pedal goes down max of about 2/3 so you get a couple clicks on the e-brake. They usually work pretty nice then.

They are very reliable. Get the parts you need, you may have to mess with jetting the carb. You can always toss a clone in it if you have engine issues.

You may have to pull the brake pedal out if its not moving freely sometimes they corrode on the bolt and need cleaning.

Here are the pics of my G 14 fan and cylinder shrouds. The 2 fan side units are mint along with 1 of the cylinder shrouds. the other cylinder shroud is cracked into 2 pieces that bolts up fine.
