Default 92 Marathon sluggish and backfires

Check out this video of the motor running. Sometimes its really sluggish, and it backfires. Its kind of making a liar out of me, because its really a hit or miss problem, thats what leads me to the coil breaking down. What do you guys think?

are they putting methanol in the fuel down there? ez go 4cycles don't like to run on that mix.
its in the lower grades here in wisconsin and my engines will pop like that! i drained the fuel and went to the 93 octane with out the meth and it cleared right up.

just my 2 cents

Pizza is right you are lean, spits back. No accelerator pump so you have to run the idle air screw rich on fuel, you may even need a larger pilot jet.

From the sound and experience with 2 strokes it a lean condition. Thats why the slow response.Try pulling the choke partly on and see if it helps . That will confirm for you.
