Cart backfires and running rich
My 09 precedent is backfiring and smells like it is running rich. The guy I bought it from had the throttle adjustment rod at the rear of the cart maxed out. Can anybody give any advice on what the problem may be and how to fix it?

Re: Cart backfires and running rich
Picture of the rod? I have only jacked up EZGOs but when you go to far..... they backfire. Im no expert here but we back the throttle adjustment/governor/whatever back down a little till they stop backfiring and we drive the daylights out of them. :)

Re: Cart backfires and running rich
It is my understanding the throttle is closing later than the pedal is shutting off. Try backing off the rod adjustment and check that the throttle plate is closing before the pedal microswitch shuts down the ignition.
