Default Jerking cart

I'm wanting to purchase a 2005 EZGO Txt gas cart. When test driving it, I noticed a pretty good jerking of the cart when first starting and/or operating at slow speed. Runs great at higher speeds. Anyone have any info on what could be causing this problem ?

Sounds like it may the drive clutch may be sticking a little bit and once the engine spins up enough rpm's it jumps into the belt instead of slowly squeezing on it as it should.

Is that something that can be adjusted, or am I looking at a clutch job ? Thanks for the insight

I had a similar problem with mine. I checked the butterfly on the carb and it opened as it should, timed the valves and replaced the air hose for the air filter box, which did seem to help but it is doing it again. The same way you mentioned.

A easy way to check is just pop the seat and start the engine and see if the clutch slowly squeezes into the belt or it sort of jumps into it.

Jerking slow speed usually means the throttle cable and pedal kill switch are out of sinc. when driving slow the engine kill switch is firing and killing the ignition as you travel. with the key off slowly push the gas pedal and listen for the switch to click. It should click "on" just before the carb butterfly starts to open.
