ezgo engine swap
i have a ezgo gas golf cart with a 9hp twin engine and recenlty i discovered that the engine is only running on one cylinder and i think it has other problems so i want to get a new motor and was thinking about going to harbor freight and getting a 22 HP (670cc) V-Twin Horizontal Shaft but i do not know if it is possible to do and would like to know if anyone has done something like this and if it would work or if there are other options. any advise will help, thanks.

Re: ezgo engine swap
If you are looking for a simple bolt in and go swap I would definitely use the kit from Vegas carts. I was in a hurry to get my vtwin Briggs installed in my wife’s cart and didn’t feel like making anything to do it so I ordered the install kit from Vegas carts. It really don’t get any easier. I took the old engine out once I seen the install kit was on the way. It took less than an hour to install the new engine and have it running.

Re: ezgo engine swap
How much $$ are we talking about to do one of these swaps ?
I am talking total including clutches and hardware ? to do a 1999 Workhorse. I know someone who needs one to get his 99 workhorse back in action. He wants more pulling power also. Thanks. Tom |

Re: ezgo engine swap
Have not done one of these swaps myself, because of the noise factor.
The people I know personal that have done one ended up with over $2,000-$2500. all said and done. You could get off for a little less if you used one of those China, HF engines. |
