My engine was out of the cart for removing the primary. I used the welding glove to hold the clutch while hitting the clutch removal tool with the impact gun. The impact gun I used was a heavy hitting 1/2" drive unit. As I stated earlier the clutch virtually flew off instantly with this method.

So far Ive never had to use and impact or heat when removing a primary. Using the clutch removal tool and getting tighten it as much as I can whack it with a good sized hammer a few times then tighten it some more and another whack or 2 usually is all it takes.

That's the bad thing about the cheap removal tools sold on ebay or amazon. They don't seem to hardened enough to take the hits without marring the tool but it does work.

On the duster clutches ive removed I used 2 grade 8 bolts, one the proper size to thread into the clutch 7/8? fine thread then take a 5 inch long 3/8s? bolt (forgive me bolts sizes maybe off) and cut the head off and use it as a pusher. works well with the same method. tighten it up whack it, retighten and whack it again.

We got it off with the impact wrench and the clutch removal tool via fleabay without issue.

Every cart is different, some come right off and some need 1” impact with 175 psi air going to it... I’m jk on a 1” impact, but you get the idea. Mine came off easily with an impact as you have to brace the clutch from moving.
