Exhaust flange mounted to the cylinder. The butterfly inside of it should have linkage connected to it. It opens when the accelerator pedal is pushed and closes when it is released. Just something to check.

Is your choke hooked up and working correctly? Sounds like mine when it wants the choke on to fire. Is your plug wet or dry after you try to start it?

Choke is hooked up and the plugs wet after trying to run it

Sheesh. It sounds like everything is just about as it should be.

The only other thing I can think of is crank seals? If there is no engine vacuum drawing the fuel mix out of the cylinder it will flood almost instantly. Bad crank seals = no engine vacuum.

Try swapping the cables on A1 and A2 over on the starter generator, you may have them around the wrong way.

2-cycle engines don't care what direction they spin, they can still run. That's how you get reverse in a G1.

You are correct that a 2 stroke can work in either direction, but with the ignition system on G1 2 strokes the A1 terminal on the starter/generator should go to the forward solenoid.

So I swapped out the gas with fresh gas and it seemed a little better... I plan to try to do a leak down test in a week or so. Whenever I can get some freeze plugs. That will hopefully tell me if I have any leaks.
