The Precedent body isn't intended to fit the DS chassis, they are very different underneath. That said, there are people who have put together combinations that wouldn't normally work together. Depends on how much time & effort you want to put into it, but it won't be easy. Lots of custom fabrication I would imagine.

Yeah the light kits are expensive, but probably not that much different than the cost of the light kit for the Alpha you were originally looking at.
