Default G8 input shaft

Having difficulty finding a input shaft for G8. Found 14 and up. Can anyone assist with this? Or what gens are the same.
93 G8. I’m a newbie, and like to do my own work. Thanks in advance.

Thank you. Is there a way to tell “early 14”? Any advise or direction to the parts is extremely appreciated. Thanks again

Partszilla/boats.com sells for $340 them BUT it looks to 90+ days to ship one. You might want to call Don Plowman and see if he can help. You might be better off if you can find a complete rear used. BUT again with all the engine swapping 4 stroke CCW rears are scarce.

The later G14's have the Dana rear end with the removable cover, like the G16.

Removable as is resembling a vehicle rear end differential cover? Is there a place that has style stamped? Sorry if i sound dumb. Is plowman number on here? I’m assuming the Dana rear is better? Thanks again

Plowman's is a sponsor here just click the like above for his info. Some feel the earlier yamaha unit in the G2-14 are stronger than the Dana but there are probably more of them around. BUT don't know if it is a bolt in swap. The Dana resembles a typical car diff where the Yamaha is more ATV looking.

I found a G2 input shaft on Boats.net. Quick delivery. Need to press a gear off the old one and reuse on the new one. When rear end is apart take a bunch of pictures before removing stuff....

Got mine replaced and it seems to be running well.
